October is a great time to visit Goa as the monsoon season is over. Further you can be sure to miss the rainy days that you may have in September. The average temperature ranges from 28 to 32 degrees centigrade.

Firstly no more choppy sea so you can enjoy the whole day at the beach. But more importantly it is great weather conditions for swimming and sunbathing. The sea temperature is about 30 degrees centigrade which is nice and warm. Great for a beach holiday in Calangute, Palolem beach and Agonda beach.

The shacks are beginning to open once again in mid October in Goa.

The tourist season starts in earnest from mid November. Therefore there are bargains to be had if you book in October. Hotel and shack prices are cheaper than the peak tourist season in November.

Take a jeep from nearby Mollem village which only operates from October to March. late October is probably the best time to visit by jeep (soon after the monsoon)
It is too dangerous to use jeeps in the monsoon as the river crossings and waterfall can swell to dangerous levels, due to the unpredictable amount of rainfall in the Ghats in monsoon.

Pros of visiting Goa in October

There are fewer tourist at the beach and therefore no jostling for a sun bed

Hotels, bars, restaurants, shacks are cheaper as the official season is still 4 to 6 weeks away

River rafting on Mhadei river and other beach water sport activities are available soon after the monsoon.
